The first top trend is sustainable design. This is the right time to prioritise sustainable designs due to the increasing focus on environmental issues. For example, wild fires in the United State of America that burnt down houses in Los Angeles, only brick and concrete walls survived. Also, the floods that happened in most of the southern parts of Africa were horrible. So this should be a wake up call.
Another top trend is urban planning. The cities are now flooded with high influx of people and becoming more dense, this then leaves the architects with the challenge of coming up with a more holistic approach for affordable accommodation and urban planning. Designing buildings and neighborhoods that prioritise walkability, public transit and green spaces as well as technology integration.
